Air Canada and Palma Airport Boost Connectivity Between Mallorca and North America

Air Canada and local authorities, together with representatives from the tourism and business sectors, today celebrated the launch of a new direct summer service starting on 18 June between Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) and Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL), enhancing connectivity between Mallorca and Canada with the only direct service between the two countries.

The event took place at the Mallorca Son Moix Stadium, attended by Margaret Skinner, Senior Director of Sales EMEAI at Air Canada; Mr. Devon Zhang, Consul of Canada in Spain; Mr. Maël Solen Picard, Director of the Bureau du Québec in Barcelona; and Mr. Jaime Martínez Llabrés, Mayor of Palma de Mallorca, alongside local Mallorcan authorities and institutions.

The service will operate three times per week throughout the summer season, offering customers a convenient direct connection between Mallorca and Canada in just over eight hours. Flights will depart Palma every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, with return services from Montreal on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Margaret Skinner, Senior Director of Sales EMEAI at Air Canada, said, “We are delighted to launch our new direct service between Palma and Montreal, further strengthening our ties between Spain and Canada. Our aim is to support tourism, connect friends, families, and businesses, and make it easier than ever to explore Air Canada’s global network. Our new transatlantic route does just that, offering customers a seamless and convenient connection.”

Through Air Canada’s Montreal hub, passengers travelling from Palma can benefit from seamless onward connections to destinations across Canada, the United States and South America. Whether it be exploring Canada via its hubs such as Toronto or Vancouver, or stretching further afield via San Francisco, Los Angeles, Cancún, Bogotá, Mexico – these destinations are all accessible through a single booking and convenient transfer experience.

Travellers connecting to the United States via Canada can also take advantage of U.S. Customs and Immigration preclearance rules in Montreal, enabling them to arrive in the U.S. as a domestic passenger.

The service will be operated on Air Canada’s state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with the choice of three cabin options: Economy, Premium Economy and Air Canada’s renowned Signature Class.

Customers can also benefit from Aeroplan, Air Canada’s loyalty programme, which enables members to earn and redeem points across the airline’s global network and a wide range of partner airlines, with the flexibility to combine points with cash.
